I took this while on my run. My phone did a horrible job in capturing this field, but it's okay... I can try to describe it instead. This field had beautiful pink and red wild flowers scattered all over... it was quite a sight. I guess I should try to come back with a "real" camera... Hmm, next time hopefully.

I know that Natalie is probably going to kill me for posting this picture (haha, sorry!), but I just had to finally capture what I've been doing almost every Friday evening! I used to be the biggest hater of zumba, but once I tried it... I couldn't get enough of it! I don't think that I can dance particularly well, but I sure love to do it(!!!) and zumba lets me get rid of all that dance energy that builds up in me! It's what I look forward to at the end of the week! :)

I had a great run around Mt. Trashmore on this gorgeous Saturday! I love that every time I either go or pass by Mt. Trashmore, kids - young and old - are always flying kites!

February 23rd, 2010

I know, I know... It has been awhile since I last posted. I've been busy (but a good kind of busy) between school, volunteering/interning, and the gym...!

Yes, I decided to join the local gym, and I'm so excited that I did! I've been a member for about two weeks, and I can only hope that I will continue to be as active as I am now.

February 19th, 2010

I began my morning with a nice long run. It was the first time I ran outside since November (with the exception of the Santa Shuffle) and it felt really good. I'm so glad it's starting to get warmer. All the exercising I've been doing really has improved my endurance. It was so nice to finally run the full trail by my neighborhood without feeling tired or out of breath; instead, I felt like I could run for much longer.

Later that evening, I had an impromptu night out with the girls again! That's two weekends in a row! :) They're so much fun!

January 22nd, 2010

So since the New Year, in an attempt to avoid laziness, I've been exercising regularly (at least 3 to 4 times a week which is more than I've ever done, really, especially during the winter). I wouldn't really call the exercising a New Year's resolution, but it sure has me feeling incredible! Not only do I feel great physically, but the time I've dedicated to exercising has been very meditative for me. I read the first couple of pages of Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, and I agree with a lot of his sentiments... "No matter how mundane some action might appear, keep at it long enough and it becomes a contemplative, even meditative act." I guess that's why dish-washing and laundry-folding are also meditative acts for me ;)
